AIR JORDAN 1 SHATTERED BACKBOARD 3.0

On August 25, 1985, after his first season with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan participated in an exhibition game in Trieste, Italy between Stefanel Trieste and Juve Caserta. Wearing the black, white, and orange of Trieste and his “Chicago” Air Jordan 1s, Jordan put on a show, pouring in 30 points. But the absolute highlight was a thunderous dunk — a dunk so powerful Jordan shattered the glass backboard.

In this iteration of the shattered backboard I was inspired by an aged sneaker shrink wrapped and on the wall of a sneaker resale store. I wanted this colorway to stand out and feel different front the 1.0 & 2.0, something for the risk takers. Michael Jordan himself was known to stand out, from his own unique sense of style to the way he played his game.
